Im Rahmen des Projekts ENCOUNTERS III zeigt der Verein .ditiramb die dokumentarischen und künstlerischen Eindrücke des letztjährigen Projekts. Diese Ausstellung ist zugleich auch die offizielle Eröffnung des diesjährigen Encounters III. Das Projekt wird in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards bereits zum dritten mal in Wien durchgeführt.

The photographic representation of the human body and the body’s role as medium and motif in the creation of visual art are the defining themes in the exhibition bodies & surfaces. The juxtaposition of two highly distinctive artistic positions engenders a dynamic field of visual correspondences and interactions on the level of content, lending the exhibition the appearance of a work of installation art.

The title The Phantom hints at the themes explored in this project: space, time, hybrids between the natural and the artificial, people’s self-perception and how they are seen by their environment, and the distortions of space effected by the human gaze.
